About UsWhere we came from and where we are headed

Our GoalsLet's Talk Race, Clemson is committed to the following:
|
History and Previous EventsLet's Talk Race, Clemson began as “Discussions on Race” shortly after the incidents that took place in Charlottesville, VA in August 2017. Several mothers in our area were concerned about issues related to race and how it would affect their children. Since the earliest small group meeting, we have opened discussions to the general public.
Let’s Talk Race, Clemson currently meets about 4 times a year for a large group meeting and usually have between 15 and 30 people of various backgrounds attend. Discussions have included watching a movie and discussing it (in 2018 we watched 13th), reading a book and discussing it (e.g. in 2017 we discussed Dear White America by Tim Wise), or listening to podcasts as a source of discussion (e.g. Uncivil), and inviting local speakers who are experts on topics related to race. |
Who We Are
A small group of leaders has met several times a year to provide leadership, resources, and help publicize events to the larger Clemson community. We would like a larger more diverse group of leaders. Volunteer using form on Home page.
